Flags and Nations
This
worksheet is for writing practise. Invite students to make sentences about
each country represented by its flag. This is assuming that students are already
familar with the flags or know how to ask for information they don't have.
Students could be left to make up their own sentence for each flag or if more structure is required, asked to follow a particular pattern. Here are some example senteces based on Japan:
This is the Japanese flag.
In Japan people speak Japanese.
The Japanese military budget is $41.4 billion.
or very simply
Japan
In case you were wondering the countries are listed in order of their military spending. The most recent figures that I know of are available from the Center For Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.
